Apprenticeship Training Programme



Since the launch of Mitsubishi Elevator Apprenticeship Training Programme in 1991, we have nurtured many technical professionals in the lift and escalator industry. We have collaborated with Vocational Training Council to equip young people who are interested in joining the lift and escalator sector with sound technical knowledge and practical skills of lift and escalator engineering, thereby giving new impetus to our Company and facilitating sustainable development of the lift and escalator industry. The 4-year comprehensive programme provides a combination of on-the-job learning and classroom learning with clear progression pathways for professional advancement.

Training Components



During the Training Period

  • Apprentices have to undergo rotational on-the-job training in the following 4 functional areas with a typical duration of 6-12 months each:

    • Maintenance (including routine maintenance, major repair, minor repair and annual test)
    • Installation
    • Modernization
    • Field Engineering
  • The Company provides full sponsorship to the apprentices for attending designated courses at VTC.
  • In addition to training in Hong Kong, the apprentices may also be sent to training centres in Zhongshan or Japan for practical training.

After Completion of the Training

  • Graduates who successfully complete the training will obtain a graduation certificate of apprenticeship and attain registered lift / escalator worker qualification.
  • The graduates can apply for sponsorship to pursue academic competence in their responsible job-related areas and become a professional in the field.
